I'm from Holland, can you tell?

For the Show us your country challenge on Parokeets I have made some typical Dutch nails :)
My inspiration were the typical things that are used to make my country recognizable for foreign people, the images that are used on postcards or you can see in souvenir shops. So I made my own water decals of those things.

My country is well known for their cheese so I have a piece of cheese on my pinkie. On my ring finger I have a farmer girl in traditinal clothing on wooden shoes holding a mill. A lot of foreign people think that everyone in my country walks on wooden shoes (clogs) but it is just a part of the old fashioned traditional clothing, of course there are still people who walk on wooden shoes, but that is mostly in the country life. My country is also famous for their tulips, so I have wooden shoes and a red tulip on my middle finger. On my index finger I have a mill, that is also something that can't be missing. My thumb has a black and white cow on it. You can identify my country by these five things, they all have a connection. You often see them together on photo's or postcards. Then you see a scenery of tulips with cows, mills and farmer people on wooden shoes. And the milk from the cows is used to make cheese.

On the tip of my nails I've stamped the colors of my coutry's flag. Konad SN blue, red and M44. The base is OPI Alpine Snow with a layer of P2 Divine.

So this is my way to show you my country ;)

Can you tell by looking only at my nails that I'm from Holland?

Kaleidoscope Him Out with nail art

Like I said in my previous blog, I had this polish on my nails during my holiday to Greece, the island Samos. I love wearing holographic polishes on my holiday because they are just so pretty in the sun. And I can stare at my nails the whole day.

Here you can see my holiday summer creation I've made this in October 2009.

Look at the view :) I used M27 for the SN blue pearl seahorses, and the same plate for the SN psyche pink fishes. I only had mini bottles with me so I mixed blue pearl en yellow the create green for the seaweed imageplate M32.

Here you can see the nail art better ;)

On my thumb I also have a self made water decal of a starfish. I love this picture with the shell in my hand. It totally doesn't look misplaced in my holiday photo album ;)

China Glaze Kaleidoscope week: Kaleidoscope Him Out

This is my last swatch of the Kaleidoscope collection, the 3 colors I haven't worn I will show you as soon as I wear them ;) This is a very nice light blue, the photo is from October 2009 made it on my holiday in Greece (Samos).

Valentine's Day ideas part 1

I know it is still China Glaze Kaleidoscope week at my blog, but I wanted to show my current creation. Valentine's Day is coming up so I thought it would me nice to make and show some romantic/love nails the next few weeks. After this blog I will continue with the Kaleidoscope week first. And in between I will also show my entry for the "Show us you country challenge" at Parokeets. But for today a love creation ;)

OPI Chapel of love, with metallic decals and I stamped with Konad SN blue pearl and imageplate M3.

Although I make my own water decals, I love buying different kinds of decals. These decals are metallic and a regular printer doesn't have metallic silver or gold ink ;) so I love buying special decals.

I bought these decals on Ebay, seller Chicasware they were very nice. One sheet was wrong, the protection frame wasn't printed on it, so when I used it the decals dissolved. And I contacted Chicasware and they were so nice the sent me a few new sheets, while only one sheet was wrong. So that was really great service :) way to kind but I really appreciate it.

My nails in a different position, the decals are really metallic so they reflect the flash of the camera.

The nailpolish color isn't accurate but here you can see the decals better. (you can also see the gold shimmer in the polish a bit better)

Let's do it in 3D with nail art

For today I have Let's do it in 3D with glitter and glamour nailart. I've made this in March 2010 for a party of my boyfriends work and the theme of this party was glitter and glamour.

I used Konad SN black pearl and white, imageplates M14, M40 and M61. On my ringfinger I have a line of silver beads around the white diamond heart. And around that some silver and black rhinestones. Photo with flash.

Photo without flash under artificial light. So you can see the beads better.

It was really funny at this party there was a small stand where you could have you nails painted and decorated, I was curious but I'm also shy so first I didn't had the guts to go and have a look. But when a was finally looking it was kind of disappointing for me just one coat of polish no matter if it's sheer and some straight or curvy lines with a striper that was it. I was really glad I did my own naisl already and started to daydream how great it would be if I was standing there doing peoples nails with Konad, rhinestones and decals :)  (I didn't know anyone at this party so doing nails with be a great way of spending my time)

When I was looking some women noticed my nails and asked my if I just had them done there, I said no I did them at home myself especially for this party. And then they said oh okay and didn't say anything anymore.....it bit weird but later of find out that one of the women was the wife of the big boss. So perhaps she was disappointed that I did not made use of the hired girl with her stand at the party hahaha :) Anyway I liked my own creation and it was totally great for that party.

Husky nails

Although the snow here in Holland is gone it is still winter (looks more like fall at the moment :( it is raining for days now) So I wanted to make winter nails. My boyfriend really loves Husky dogs so I made this especially for him.
Base OPI Alpine Snow with China Glaze Fairy Dust (swatch see below). Some self made water decals of a Husky. Stamped with Konad SN Black and imageplate H23. For the gray snowflakes I mixed Konad SN White and Black. Photo with flash.

Just a cute photo ;)

A whole family of Husky dogs.

The base and just the decals, my nails are pretty long again so I had plenty of room left for stamping.

I hope my boyfriend likes my nails when he comes home from work :)
